Zephyrus, a professional kit which eliminates the microorganisms present in patrimonial assets in a non-invasive way, has been awarded by the UAB Research Park program which highlights the best business ideas.
Promoted by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRi) is a meeting point between research institutions and companies to find possible ways of collaboration. This event, that counted with the participation of 16 companies, was sponsored by IberCaja, member of the board of the FCRi.
Artax Biopharma (Cambridge, MA), has successfully solved the crystal structure of its target protein by using X-ray diffraction at the XALOC beamline of the ALBA Synchrotron.
Around 50 people attended the industrial seminar organized by the ALBA Synchrotron where companies were able to know how to use synchrotron light for analyzing materials such as cements, pigments, ceramics and glasses. The event was officially opened by the Minister of Business and Knowledge of the Catalan Government, Jordi Baiget.
A University of Barcelona research team has come to the NCD beamline of the ALBA Synchrotron for this experiment. One of the study’s conclusions is that the smooth mouthfeel results from the small size of the crystals and the lower melting temperature of the velvety chocolate coating.
