11th of March 2022. The ALBA Synchrotron reiterates a firm condemn to the war in Ukraine and deeply regrets the attacks and bombardments suffered by the Ukrainian population, as well as the great pain caused to Russian citizens who advocate for peace.
The ALBA Synchrotron suspends any type of relationship with Russian and Belorussian institutions, following the announcement made yesterday by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Spanish Government.
Therefore, experiments involving institutions from Russia and Belarus will not be conducted at ALBA's premises. Nor will researchers working for these institutions be allowed to participate in scientific congresses organized by ALBA. Likewise, no agreements or contracts will be signed with companies and institutions from Russia or Belarus.
We write these notes in the hope that these restrictions can be lifted as soon as possible thanks to peace restoration.
