THE ACCIÓ AGENCY, FROM THE CATALAN GOVERNMENT, VISITS THE ALBA SYNCHROTRON

The ALBA Synchrotron has received a delegation from the Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ), headed by its Chief Executive Officer.

A group from the ACCIO agency, headed by Núria Betriu – Chief Executive Officer and General Director for Industry of the Ministry of Business and Knowledge of the Government of Catalonia -, have visited today the ALBA Synchrotron facility. During the visit, they have had the opportunity to learn about how the accelerators complex works and its 8 current beamlines, directly from the ALBA’s Director, Caterina Biscari, the former President of Executive Commission of ALBA, Ramon Pascual, and the Head of the Industrial Liaison Office, Alejandro Sanchez. They also have talked about the synchrotron light’s multiple applications in a wide variety of industrial areas.

The ACCIO Chief Executive Officer, Núria Betriu, has stated a clear vision regarding the relevance of ALBA Synchrotron for the companies: “ALBA is an important asset for the industry and SMEs, contributing to the competitiveness of the country´s business sector”. The CEO has also said: “we want to be a differential country in the research field; likewise we also want so in the industrial area, with a competitive business network, for the Catalan industry to innovate and bring innovation to the world”.
