The call for proposals for the 2017-I cycle was open from 4th July to 8th September and covers the experiments to be done from January to 2nd July 2017 (except for the XALOC macromolecular crystallography beamline that covers the full year). A total of 125 proposals (1494 shifts of eight hours) have been granted to users.

The ALBA Synchrotron opens two calls for proposals per year. The proposals are evaluated by a panel, composed of international experts from different research areas, who evaluate them as a result of a ranking based on scientific excellence.
