PRESENT and FORMER POST DOCs

Aleksandr Missiul (February 2016 - December 2020)

Aleksandr's scientific background of chemist directed towards crystal structure determination in functional material and energy related  materials. He optimized the gas flow cell used on the beamline and implemented equipments in the ALBA Chemistry laboratory (Schlenk line, tubular furnace)

Alicia Manjon Sanz (June 2018 - December 2019)  now instrument scientist at Neutron Sciences Facility of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, United States

Alicia's interest in Pair Distribution Function techniques led her to optimize data collection procedures and PdFGUI software implementation.

Oriol Vallcorba (January 2014 - December 2017) scientist on the BL16-NOTOS beamline, now ALB A controls group

Oriol's initial interest focused on crystal structure determination in organic compounds using softwares he contributed as devloper. He then pushed for  MicroDiffraction techniques on the beamline. Oriol is still part of the group and maintains activity and support on MicroDiffraction techniques essentially.

Catalin Popescu (February 2012 - February 2015) now scientist on BL04-MSPD beamline

Catalin was the first Post Doc of  BL04-MSPD. He participated in the commissioning of the beamline and mounted the High Pressure laboratory and related equipments. He is now permanent staff on the line, in charge of the High Pressure Diffraction techniques

FORMER SCIENTISTS

Michael Knapp ( up to May 2011), now at Institut für Angewandte Materialien (IAM-ESS), Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), Germany

Michael was the first beamline responsible, he designed the beamline and led the construction. His scientific interest is in energy related materials and In Situ diffraction on Operando batteries. His present group is a very active part of the BL04-MSPD users community.

Inma Peral (up to January 2015), now  at Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine, Université du Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Inma joined MSPD form very beginning and worked on design, construction and commissioning of the beamline. She designed the MAD setup and strongly contributed in the integration and commssioning of the MYTHEN detector. She started with developping total scattering techniques using the MYTHEN detector.
